Camden Falls Gallery is pleased to be hosting our third annual plein air painting event, from July 31–August 20, 2014. More than a dozen plein air painters from near and far painted at their leisure throughout the midcoast area from July 31-August 8. This year’s painting dates coincided with the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta and its feeder races, which drew over 100 classic sailboats to the area for races from Castine to Camden (July 31), from Camden to Brooklin (August 1), and around Jericho Bay (August 2) to Naskeag Point to complete the regatta.

Despite the unpredictable weather (which included thick fog, intense sunshine, violent thunderstorms, and just about everything in between), nearly 40 new paintings were completed during this year’s plein air event, featuring scenes from Camden, nearby Rockport, Monhegan Island, and the surrounding areas. Several of the pieces were sold fresh off the artists’ easels to folks who had the opportunity to watch the artists at work as they completed their paintings!

This year’s participating gallery artists included Todd Bonita, Lee Boynton, Ian Bruce, Beaman Cole, Carol Douglas, Alison Hill, Renee Lammers, Jonathan McPhillips, Stefan Pastuhov, Judith Schuppien, and Peter Yesis, along with guest painters Teddi-Jann Covell, Scott Moore, and Michael Vermette.  All of the new plein air work will be displayed at the gallery from August 8-20. We are open from 9:00AM–9:00PM daily. Images of the new paintings may also be seen here on our website and on our Facebook page. For more information, please contact the gallery at 207-470-7027, or email info@camdenfallsgallery.com.
