Featured Show :: Lois Goldstone

Showing: October 2006

“Autumn Hues” a collection of pastel drawings by our featured artist of the month, Lois Goldstone, opened Friday October 20th and run into November 2006.

This collection of pastel drawings exhibited the last burst of color along the coast this season. These works both catch and harness the power and passion of autumn skies and fall landscapes just before transcendence into the winter season.

Three decades ago Lois moved to Maine and her art became her full-time passion, study, and occupation. She works in both pastels and oils to capture the woods, fields, and shores of Maine. Her works are seldom literal translations of an observed scene, but reflect the sense of joy and awe experienced when viewing nature’s offerings. Each piece attempts to provoke in their use of color, achieving an artful balance between impression and reality.

Lois exhibits her work regularly in regional juried shows including the Maine Art Gallery,The Boothbay Regional Art Foundation, The Chocolate Church, and the Round Top Center for the Arts, as well as in solo exhibitions. We are pleased to feature her this month at Camden Falls Gallery.
